Banana Paper

We found this banana paper at Greg's, an adorable shop on Hawthorne that has a joyful selection of toys, cards, and gifts. Sorry to say we have no idea who designed this paper, or where in the world it came from! Thought you might enjoy looking at it though :)

Bird Seed Skirt

When I first saw the skirt on Michelle's Zipper Tutorial made with Alexander Henry's Bird Seed fabric I knew that before the summer ended I would have to make one myself! Once I got the fabric I was too excited to try a zipper for the first time, so I used the measurements of a skirt I had made previously and put in an elastic waistband. Fabric is from Sew, Mama, Sew!

Music Box Memories

My Grandmother, a music box enthusiast, used to own a gift/music box shop called The Gift Box in Hartford City, Indiana. As a quaint tradition, she used to have her grandchildren pick out a music box from her personal collection to sit down and play. I always picked this one, my favorite of all (still to this day). The women toting small bags dance and twirl around the building in the center as a lovely melody fills the air. I could watch and listen to it for hours. My grandmother has now passed it on to me, and it will always remain my prize possession!

Purple Ninja

Inspired by these Boxed Cards I found at Zeug, I decided to get some things from our local cake decorating shop and create some dioramas of my own. Using a small box with clear plastic on the front, and adding some cool paper, stickers, and a little purple ninja, I produced this tiny treasure. I think these things would make great surprise gifts!

Gnome Fabric!!!

Hooray! A miracle happened and some little garden gnomes popped into the shop at Sew, Mama, Sew! It's my favorite fabric of all time, so I had to share it with the world! This adorable print is part of the Lightning Bug collection by Heather Ross for Free Spirit. Get your hands on some before it's gone.

Flea Market Bag

July is bag month at Sew, Mama, Sew! When this Joel Dewberry fabric came in I couldn't wait to start my bag. I used the Damask Espresso shown on outside, and Basket Sky Mix (inside). This bag pattern is the Flea Market Bag from Grand Revival. It's a great, easy pattern, and best of all the bag is REVERSIBLE!
